Yes you can import an STL and it doesn't do a bad job of dealing with the model for 3D milling but there but certain things can only really be done with 2.5D CAM within CamBam.įor example if you want to do a profile with support tabs added automatically that option is currently NOT supported with the 3D MOP in CamBam.īut you can pull in an STL and do the 3D MOP where you need to on the model, e.g. Until I tried again, then I'm back to the refusing to export problem. What am I missing on how to export a DXF of my model/Part? Note too I can export it as SVG (flattened) then import it into Inscape and export to DXF from there but I sure would like to cut the steps in that process down. That DXF file DOES import properly in other software including CamBam CAM software.īut I'm not especially concerned about DXF import at the moment.
In that DXF file there is a feature that is a Hexagon pocket. After doing that I am able to import a DXF file that I've been testing my CNC machine with but only the outline of the model is imported. Note that I used the Python console to find what version of the DXF import/export files to use saved the ones from the v.16 release and placed the 1.39 version files in the.
